Women being elected as the president of country,, in India and “The so called super power” US, has led to lot of controversial discussions, including certain absurd ones like whether the female President of India should be called RASHTRAPATNI? and if Hillary Clinton becomes the next US President would she be referred to as Mrs. Presidentrix?
Now when for so many years certain words like manhole...chairman…have never been given thought upon, Why an unneeded debate on this?
The things which should be of more concern are barely given time. Another exemplar can be the whole Dera case. There is one part of the country where daily bombings and blasts are causing decimation and the other where a common man is taking another man’s life just because he thinks differently, and the two believe in different incarnations?
Where people are giving ideas to conduct a public poll to determine whether the fellow citizes of female president would like to call her Rashtrapatni or Rashtamata….Why don’t we all conduct a poll to determine how many women/ children are still being harassed in a country like India…? Nothing is rocket science unless we take hold and work towards it….

Totally agreed on ur point abt the rashtrapatni thing. but the way u try to link it up with the dera thing is totally un-agreeable. it is not about believing in diffrent incarnations dear. it is about hurting others sentiments. a man has no right to declare himself equivalent of a god. certain principles that the sikh religion was built upon. as a hind, that would be smthin difficult for u to understand. but cmmin from punjab, u shud av known, as to what it means to sikhs!
nywayz the thing about rastrapati etc, well everything has to happen in this world na? just bcoz there is a poll on rashtrapatni, it doesnt mean that everything else has stopped. does it? nahi na? dunia mien sab kuch saath saath happens! and it is just the way ppl keep themselves busy with such small things. they giv color to life. while a few are helping out the poor too. so there has to be an equal distribution! lolz
my apologies, if i hurt ur sentiments, though i never intended to. Actually i think if a person believes in something u cn never change that belief of his. And the way the two communities hd put forward that they were hurt by conducting riots and disturbing common man's life ws also not agreeble and acceptable. So the whole thing is just about how people think on such lil' matters which won't lead to much loss as when other big things r there to think upon. Its just the way some might think :)

hey totally agree wid u on this that manmohan is doing well ............but d question that i ask every 1 .........is that can he say no to ne order frm 10 janpath .........that remains biggest scar on his tenure as a PM .....well congress doesn't hav a leader wid mass support n suupport frm grnd level ........which is huge concern as its turning to a new frm dictator ship of NEW KIND .... which is trigged by a REMOTE CONTROL
If it were in my authority, I wouldn't name her RashtraPATNI... think about the image that pops up in our mind when we think of PATI... a sensible responsible being who has sworn to take care of his family and feed them and provide them with the best of education and to save them from any kind of trouble and so on... and now think about PATNI... a lady who promises to make food, wash the clothes, satisfy the needs of her husband, and so on... now the role of the PRESIDENT is more that of the PATI than that of the PATNI... maybe its just a social typecast... but that is the whole point... I would rather go for RashtraMATA... or better still... stick to RashtraPATI itself...
quite rite alok..Rashtrapati sounds better, but d reason n thought u hv come up with s not agreeble..A lady shud be given a chance.Everything hs its first time...n this can be one of dem dat cn happen in india's democratic government....The reason i am not able to support pratibha patil is, she belongs to congress n on the other side kalam belongs to no party...dats d best part i guess for a president not belonging to any specific party n so is not biased. Such an elite post shud be given in hands of more resposible n qualified person n kalam s the best choice among rest of the canditates this year.
And calling Rashtrapati/ patni hardly matters...If at all things r working fine..no point of such debate comes here...

When half of the country is free unemployed then these kind of issues are bound to creep up ... Anyway I think your linking of dera issue with the whole thing is not appropriate .. as after india tv sting operation (although we already knew) you might have come to know about this menace of society .. and we could not leave this issue by saying that this is what he/she beleive !! as you think the society to be your family when you beleive in something wrong then does you father says ok yaar leave her this is what she beleives !! No he tries to correct you first by baat then by laat !!! hahahha
